My Skincare Essentials

I’m not massively into skincare in the sense that I don’t have tons of different skincare products and I’m really not one for swapping or changing up my routine. I have very oily skin and in the past I've tried products which are far too harsh for my skin and, as a result, have made it worse instead of keeping it cleansed and healthy looking. Because of this I’m now quite reluctant to try new skincare products unless I’ve done a lot of research into them beforehand.
My routine is fairly basic but these are the products that I’ve found work for me.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish-
I’m sure you’ve heard the hype around this product. At first I wasn’t sure if it would suit my skin type as I’d heard such a wide range of people say they use it and I wouldn’t normally go for an ‘all skin type’ product. After some research however I thought it sounded great and the natural properties of this product really appealed to me as it appeared very gentle and refreshing. Given how popular this product is, it will probably come as no surprise when I say I absolutely love it. In the evenings I firstly remove all my make-up with the Simple Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes and then go on to use the Cleanse & Polish to thoroughly cleanse my skin.

Simple Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes-
Face wipes are such a controversial product in the beauty world but I personally get on really well using them. I’ll use these in the morning to refresh my skin and in the evening to remove my make-up before using the Cleanse & Polish. They’re quick and easy to use and the Simple ones specifically for oily skin, which I always use, are perfect for me.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Moisturiser-
I was always so hesitant about using a moisturiser everyday as I was scared of making my skin even oilier. However, I now understand the importance of keeping my skin moisturised instead of trying to strip all the oil away which will just cause it to produce more. I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay one for a couple of months and I get on with it really well. It is specifically designed to keep oily skin under control whilst still leaving your skin feeling moisturised.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar A.I Spot Corrector-
I was quite intrigued by this product after coming across it on their website. It's a breakout corrector and is designed to be used on blemishes until they disappear. I like the fact they're a specialist skincare brand and don’t pack the products full of unnecessary ingredients however I’m not sure I’ll repurchase it as I don’t see particularly fantastic results after using this (I get the same result if not better when I use Savlon on any blemishes).
Dr. Nick Lowe Dark Circles Correcting Cream-
I always like to use an eye-cream for under my eyes and as I have dark circles I prefer using one targeted to this. I’m not sure any eye creams will really have any miraculous effects on dark circles, bags etc. but they at least stop the area from getting dry and looking worse. I’ve been using this one for about a month and while it hasn’t improved the appearance of my dark circles long-term, it does have light-reflecting properties which masks them a little.

Vaseline & Johnson’s Moon Care Intensive Balm-
I can’t stand having dry, chapped lips even though mine are quite susceptible to being so. During the day I will always have a lip balm on me, usually either a Nivea one or Burt’s Bees. However, just before bed I love using a combination of Vaseline and the Johnson’s Moon Care balm. I put on a layer of Vaseline and then a layer of the Johnson’s over the top and in the morning I can still feel the product on my lips; it works like a mask and protects my lips from becoming dry whilst providing long-lasting moisture as well.

One thing I would really like to invest in is a good exfoliator as I don’t currently have one and I also want to try the Korres Lip Butters as I’ve heard they’re amazing.

Please can you tell me where you buy Moon Care lip balm as I can't find it anywhere and I love it too!
