Cutting-Edge Cambridge Style at CSW!
Last night, situated in the heart of the city, the Cambridge City Hotel welcomed guests to the second night of Cambridge Style Week…and what an incredible evening it was. A fantastic turn-out and stunning show made for a truly magical event. Everyone from students to established business owners gathered to enjoy the Boutique experience, pre-fashion show, which offered an array of delightful pop-up shops. Before the show commenced, VIP guests were seated with the finest view of the catwalk and treated to a goodie bag each, bursting with little luxuries.
The atmosphere was perfect and generated a buzz of eagerness for the evening’s events to fully kick off. Having showcased leading-edge student creations proves last night as one of the most exclusive shows of CSW. Presenting gothic glam inspired garments to a fun mix of graphic print tees, the evening revealed an abundance of innovative designs from final year fashion students at the Cambridge School of Art.
Beautiful models took to the catwalk head-to-toe in unique creations, displaying the use of exceptional materials and intricate detail resembling something you would expect straight from LFW. Whilst the designs were certainly unique, and some a little more wearable than others, there were a few trends we managed to spot throughout the show. A slight grungy scene was apparent through the use of black and grey as well as leather detailing. By contrast, other collections featured vibrant colours, floral patterns and beautiful embellishments. Sharp edging, strong shapes and asymmetrical cuts also added an androgynous touch to the show. The exquisite jewellery, provided by our lovely sponsors Catherine Jones Jewellery, complimented the garments beautifully by incorporating modern design with a touch of luxury.
Cutting-edge Style has unveiled the many talented individuals Cambridge holds and enabled their designs to be celebrated and appreciated by others.
