After all the festive fun, family time and excitement in December, January can always seem a bit dull so it’s the perfect excuse to indulge in a bit of pampering. My friend and I were kindly treated to a lovely trip to Clarice House Day Spa in Bury St Edmunds by one of our other friends. It was such a treat and something we never would have booked for ourselves, which made the day even more special. Luckily, we were able to choose the day we’d prefer to go so we purposely planned it for a day during my week off university. It was a much-needed break and I was excited to just spend the day relaxing, not having to think about anything.
The place itself, an impressive Neo-Jacobean Mansion, is beautifully situated in the midst of gorgeous greenery and woodland; the perfect tranquil setting for a spa day or weekend getaway. We arrived pretty early to get the most out of our day so after a little tour we grabbed our robes and slippers and headed straight for the Jacuzzi and sauna. After an amazing Swedish back & neck massage and a luxurious Germaine de Capuccini facial, we made our way to the restaurant for some lunch. I had refreshing melon and passion fruit to start, a juicy steak burger for mains and the scrumptious 8 textured chocolate dessert… it was all delicious! The afternoon was spent having a pretty pink OPI manicure and a snooze by the pool.
It was such a lovely, chilled-out day and just what I needed. If you’re not close to BSE, they also have Clarice House Day Spas in Colchester and Ipswich and I’d definitely recommend a visit!
