A couple of weeks ago Gary and I decided to book a last minute getaway to Torquay as a much needed relaxing break. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed beautiful sunshine every day. We got upgraded to a super pretty room at the gorgeous hotel we were staying in (Haldon Priors if you're wondering) which was just a five minute walk to the beach and a very short drive to the town centre. During our stay we visited a place called Becky Falls which has been voted the most beautiful place in Devon; it really is stunning and definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the area. We walked around the falls, admired the adorable baby Meerkats and I even braved the ‘Boulder Clamber’ which involved climbing across/down the boulders (and a tree trunk!) to the bottom of the water fall. Scary stuff.
The other days were spent visiting Brixham marina, Paignton Pier and having a wander round Torquay and the harbour. On our last day we explored the picturesque surroundings of a little village called Cockington. It was one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been to with countryside cottages, cobbled streets, cosy pubs and quaint tearooms; my dream place to live. We also drove through Cheddar Gorge on the way home which was pretty amazing. Here are some snaps from the trip.
